Regional Expert Group Meeting on Advancing Disaster Resilience, Dushanbe, 7-8 December 2023

The Regional Expert Group Meeting on Advancing Disaster Resilience: Harnessing Data, Technology, and Policy for a Safer Tomorrow will be held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 7 and 8 December 2023. This event is organized by the Asian and Pacific Centre for the Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM) and will be hosted by the Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

About the Event: As a regional institution of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), APDIM is committed to collaborating with ESCAP members, associate members, and other stakeholders to mitigate risks, minimize damage, and reduce losses resulting from disasters. The Regional Expert Group Meeting will build upon the outcomes of APDIM's previous conferences and events, with a specific focus on integrating data, technology, and policy to enhance the preparedness and response capabilities of the Asia-Pacific. The meeting is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange, explore innovative solutions, and share best practices in the field of disaster resilience.

The outcomes of the Regional Expert Group Meeting will be brought to the attention of the Governing Council of APDIM, which will hold its eighth session in Dushanbe on 8 December 2023.
